Professor. School of Visual Arts (SVA). Teach undergraduate courses in ethical theory, social and political, the ancients, aesthetics, critical thinking, introduction to philosophy, Eastern philosophy, and the philosophy of religion.


1992-1999     

Hospital Ethics Committee Member. Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Brooklyn. Considered ethical consults. Reviewed and revised various ethics protocols for the Medical Center, e.g. Withdrawing Life Support, DNR, Advanced Directives. Conducted staff and patient educational program in ethics, etc. 

1991-1992     

Adjunct Lecturer. Dowling College. Taught undergraduate introductory philosophy courses.

1991- 1992   

Instructor. Fordham University Science and Technology Program. Taught high school seniors college level courses in critical thinking and social issues.

1987-2003     

Consultant (Pro Bono). Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Brooklyn. Vietnam Veteran Self Help Initiative. Offer administrative, philosophic, and ethical guidance to veterans suffering from Posttraumatic Stress Disorder.

1982- 1987    

Founder/Coordinator. Vietnam Veteran Self Help Initiative. Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Brooklyn. Initiated and administrated this therapeutic community of veterans.


Military

1965-1971     

United States Marine Corps. Rank: 1st Lieutenant. Platoon and Company Commander. Service includes a thirteen month tour in Vietnam.

Navy Commendation Medal with Combat 'V' Device for Valor, Presidential Unit Citation, National Defense Medal, Vietnamese Service Medal, Vietnamese Campaign Medal, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry, New York State Conspicuous Service Cross.
